What this site is

MyTriangleServices is a directory of businesses serving the Raleigh–Durham Triangle, with reviews from customers, license records from the state, and grades that are our opinion. We are not a party to anything you agree with a contractor. We don’t do the work, we don’t supervise it, and we don’t guarantee it.

Check credentials yourself before you hire. We publish what the licensing board says, and it’s a starting point, not a warranty.

Reviews

Write what actually happened. Specifically:

  • Only review businesses you’ve actually dealt with.
  • Don’t review your own business, your competitor, your employer, or your relative’s business.
  • Don’t accept anything in exchange for a review, money, a discount, or a free upgrade.
  • No personal information about anyone, no threats, no slurs, and nothing you can’t stand behind.

Every review is read by a person before it publishes. We remove ones that break these rules. We do not remove a review because it’s negative, because the business asked, or because the business pays us. If we did, none of the reviews here would be worth reading.

Your review is your own speech. You keep it; you grant us the right to publish and display it here. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

Grades

The letter grade on a business profile is our opinion, calculated from the inputs published on our methodology page and nothing else. It is not a statement of fact about a business, not a certification, and not advice.

Paying us does not change it, at any price. There is no input for money in the calculation.

If you run a business and think your grade is wrong: you can reply publicly to any review, and claiming your profile lets you supply the license and insurance details that several inputs depend on, which is usually what moves it. If you believe a review is fake or a fact is wrong, tell us and we’ll investigate. We keep a dated record of every grade and exactly what it was computed from.

Contests

One vote per person per business per day. Don’t use scripts, proxies, or incentives to gather votes. We log every vote and remove ones that aren’t real, including after a contest closes, a rigged result isn’t worth having. We may disqualify an entry that’s buying votes.

If you claim a business

Claim only a business you’re actually connected to, and tell us honestly how. You’re responsible for what you publish on the profile, your offers have to be real and honorable, and your details accurate. We review every claim by hand and can reverse one if it turns out to be wrong.

Paid plans

Paid plans buy visibility: placement in lists (always labeled), promotions, banners and editorial coverage. They do not buy a grade, a review, lead priority, or the removal of a competitor. Cancel any time, your profile, reviews and grade stay exactly as they are, because they were never ours to withdraw.

Links from paid placements carry rel="sponsored", as Google’s policies require. We don’t sell links that pass ranking credit, that would put your site at risk as much as ours.

The badge

You’re welcome to display your grade badge on your own site. It must link back to your profile and must not be altered, including displaying a grade you no longer hold. The badge reflects your live grade; if the grade changes, so does the badge.

License data

License records are public record from the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors. We republish what they publish. A business missing from the registry isn’t necessarily unlicensed, it may trade under a different legal name, or work below the threshold where a license is required. Wrong records must be corrected at the board.

No warranty, and the limits of our liability

The site is provided as-is. We work hard to be accurate and we will still be wrong sometimes: a license sync can lag, a review can be fake before we catch it, a grade can be computed from incomplete data.

We’re not liable for your dealings with any business you find here. Hiring someone is your decision, and the contract is between you and them.

Changes

If we change these in a way that matters we’ll date it here and say what changed.
