How the voting works
These awards are decided by people in the Triangle, not by us and not by anyone advertising here. The rules are short on purpose.
Anyone can be nominated
A business does not need to be listed with us, claimed, or paying for anything. If they do good work in the Triangle, someone can put their name forward.
One vote per person, per day
Voting is daily rather than one-and-done, so a contest rewards steady support from real customers instead of whoever posts the link first.
Money changes nothing
There is no paid placement in a contest, no way to buy votes, and no sponsored winner. A business on our most expensive plan and one that has never paid us anything are on identical footing here.
Results are public while they run
The leaderboard is live, so you can see the standings rather than being told the outcome at the end. Past winners stay up permanently.
A popular vote is not the same as a grade
Winning here means people turned out for a business, which is worth knowing and is not the same thing as our grade. The grade comes from reviews, license standing and the public record, and it does not move because a company ran a good campaign. Use both.
