Get painting quotes

Tell us what you're painting, inside or out, and local painters will reach out with quotes.

What happens when you submit

Local companies see your request and reply with quotes. You compare and pick, and nobody gets your number until you choose.

Heads up, we don't have companies taking these jobs yet, so this may not find a match.

Step 1 of 5

What are you painting?

Inside or out?

What decides the price

Quotes for the same job can differ a lot, and it is usually scope rather than markup. These are the things that actually move the number.

  • Interior versus exterior, and how many storeys
  • Prep, which is most of the labour: patching, sanding, caulking and priming
  • Number of colors, and whether ceilings and trim are included

Have this ready

The difference between a real quote and a callback asking for measurements.

  • Rooms, or exterior sides, to be covered
  • Current condition of the surfaces
  • Whether you want trim and ceilings done

Worth knowing

Two quotes that differ a lot are usually differing on prep and coats. Ask how many coats, and whether that includes primer.

Before you sign anything

Get it in writing, check the license yourself rather than taking a number off a truck, and be wary of a price that expires today. North Carolina requires a general contractor license for most work over $30,000, and several trades are licensed by their own boards on top of that.
