MyTriangleServices publishes a free license checker for every active NC contractor
The North Carolina Licensing Board publishes its register as a lookup form. We've made it a page per license, free, no account, and updated on a schedule.

RALEIGH, N.C. MyTriangleServices today made its North Carolina general contractor license checker free and public, with a page for every active license on the state register.
The North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors publishes licensee data, and it's public. What it isn't is usable: it's a search form that gives you one record at a time, with no link you can send anyone and nothing a search engine can read.
What we did
Every active license now has its own page showing the license number, the status, the classification, the limitation, and the qualifying party. The pages are free, need no account, and link to the board's own record so anyone can check our work.
Where the data comes from
Everything on a license page comes from the NCLBGC register. We don't rate, score or interpret it. A license is a fact about a filing, and it says nothing about whether a contractor is any good. Where we hold a review corpus for a business, that's on their profile and it's kept separate on purpose.
Why it's free
Because a homeowner checking whether the person quoting them is licensed should not hit a paywall, and because the data is already public. We make money from businesses who want a profile and placement. We don't make money from access to a state register.
